O2 and Moose on tour....

De La Soul

Not literally, this is a post about the last two gigs we went to, since neither of us posted anything about them.

Lets start with the latest one, it was De La Soul, it was epic and we managed to score that sweet picture with Trugoy the Dove (Plug two). The night featured guest appearances from Mos Def who performed 'Casa Bey' and the classic 'Umi Says'. Next guest was Prince Paul who did some fuckery skit about cooking beats. The group itself were amazing performing tracks from their 20 years long career. Finally, to rap up an amazing show they brought out Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz) to perform Feel Good Inc. and the crowd went wild, it was mind blowing!

The other gig was The Legendary Roots Crew from Philly, Black Thought, ?uestlove and Co. never disappoint, they are one of the best bands to watch live, don't take my word for it though, The Rolling Stone listed them on the best live act list. This show was no exception they rocked a packed Manchester Academy 1 venue and the whole place was shaking when they performed 'The Seed 2.0'. Below is a video of their swagger filled, playful entrance.

p.s. We were first row on both gigs, cos that is how we roll.

Ozzie checks in...

The poll has closed and 13/18 people apparently liked the new layout, I'm sure everyone -just like my partner- did not notice the change and were just being 'nice'. Anyway, let me do a recap of this week so far, I started uni again after the Easter break, which led to a lot of last minute work to meet deadlines, Moose & I decided to buy De La Soul tickets for the 17th of July, but did not buy em' yet (holla at me if you want to join us).

Also, I watched Notorious after putting it off for a long time, it was not as bad as people said but to be honest, however, 'The Wackness' made me want to listen to Biggie more than his own movie, now that is messed up, but on the bright side, you get to see his kid playing him when he was younger and you get to see some BOOBS, but of course his boobs were always bigger than the women he 'makes love' to.

I will be busy this weekend with next week's deadlines, but expect an 'intersting' article soon ;-)

We all loved the original, now here comes the 'edit'. Paying homage to a lot of my favourite artists, including: A Tripe Called Quest, De La Soul and Mitch Hedberg.

If you missed the original, don't panic, I included the video after the jump.

Real Hip-Hop at your doorstep

Nasty Nas, Mighty Mos, De La Soul, KanYe, Cudi and will.i.am at The G.O.O.D music after-party in London.

The Manchester leg of the 'Glow In the Dark' tour is in two days, guess who got no tickets? It is yours truly and the fam. Guess who missed out on a 'Mos Def, the pharcyde & Nas' show last Wednesday? It is us again. Damn, we suck!

Never mind me complaining and enjoy some real Hip-Hop Y'all! Snatched from the guys at 2dopeboyz.

Osman edit: I love how the star packed stage turns to stans when Mr. Nasir Jones grabs the mic. *watches video for the nth time*
